The Waterford Traveller & Roma Local Employment Initiative (WTRLEI) will provide person-centred job coaching, guidance, advice and information to members of the Traveller and Roma communities living in Waterford city and county.

We are recruiting for two (2) part-time Employment Liaison Workers to provide practical, accessible and culturally appropriate supports to Travellers and Roma exploring options to progress their personal goals in training, education and employment whilst engaging with employers to create meaningful pathways to employment.

The key role of the successful candidates is to strengthen skills for participants through person-centred job coaching, implementing training, developing referral pathways to other services and building strong, positive links with employers.

Working collaboratively with Buíon’s Atelier Roma Project and Waterford Mincéiri Port Láirge the worker(s) will promote participation with the supports provided by Waterford TRLEI.

The project’s ethos is based on person-centred approaches, underpinned by human rights, equality and community development practices The actions and supports delivered by the project will actively respond to emerging needs within the community and align with local and national policies including National Traveller & Roma Inclusion Strategy and Waterford Traveller Interagency Strategy.

Contract: Fixed term contract for 21 hours per week based on funding.
